General Manager

Naviga has been retained to identify  a General Manager for our client, a well-established construction company specializing in renovations for multifamily properties throughout the FL market. 
Title: General Manager
Location: Tampa Metropolitan

Key Points: 
  • Long standing reputation with over 100 years of combined business history, backed by steady operations in three major Florida markets (Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville). 
  • As the General Manager, you’ll lead the entire operations and production teams, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company's success and growth.

  • Report directly to the owners to maintain a team-oriented culture and drive growth and success. 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day operations, including overseeing renovation projects for timely and high-quality completion, and managing senior leaders such as the Director of Exterior and Director of Interiors. 
  • Take full ownership of P&L, manage budgets, and lead financial discussions.
  • Foster a positive work culture where employees feel valued and fairly compensated, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team on strategic decisions for growth, and process improvements, and with property management companies to understand project needs and timelines
  • Maintain strong communication with the Sales Manager to align operational and sales goals, and act as the point of contact for project issue escalation and problem-solving
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and project profitability, and manage vendor and subcontractor relationships for timely and cost-effective project delivery




Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leading operations within the construction industry
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including managing and mentoring a team of experienced professionals, with a background in P&L ownership and budget management
  • Construction experience encompassing exterior and/or interior projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage and collaborate with team members who have long-standing tenure and strong personalities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to project management
  • Experience working with property management companies is a plus

Education:
  • A degree is not required
