Chief Sales Officer (CSO)

Naviga’s client, a payroll-linked software ecosystem expanding purchasing and borrowing power for customers, has retained us to help them find an experienced Vice President of Business Development.

Title: Vice President of Business Development
Location: Remote, anywhere across the United States other than the West Coast.

Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the CEO

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the business development budget prudently across multichannel marketing and third party resource spend
  • Manage client pipeline and be the single point of contact for all prospects, coordinating information exchange between prospective clients and project delivery team
  • Close deals in line with goals supporting the agreed financial plan
  • Planning and overseeing marketing initiatives.
  • Researching organizations and individuals in target market to find new opportunities.
  • Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
  • Building a high performing business development team
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of related experience in sales or marketing.
  • Possession of a good Rolodex of client prospects and ability to hit the ground running
  • Ability to communicate across the client organization from the C-suite to business, technology and project delivery teams
  • Ability to translate client engagement back to the team in a way that spurs the best utilization of existing capabilities and development of new products/solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
  • Proficient in the MS-Office /Office365 Suite of products
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related preferred or extensive business development experience with a successful track record
