Title: Employment Attorney

Location: Hybrid - Austin or Dallas, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Manage litigation related to class actions and single-plaintiff cases, focusing on wage and hour issues, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on employment law matters, including restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, and employee policies/training.
  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, termination/severance agreements, and related documents.
  • Advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions and conduct employment due diligence.
  • Counsel clients on compliance with FMLA, ADA, and other leave of absence/accommodation issues.

Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice in Texas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, advice and counsel, and transactional work.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws and discrimination laws.
  • Experience in defending class and collective actions and providing day-to-day legal advice to a range of clients.
  • Experience supporting complex corporate transactions.
  • Strong proficiency in oral and written communication, legal analysis, and strategic thinking.
  • Solution-oriented with strong project management skills and service quality.
  • Ability to build relationships, work effectively in teams, and manage people.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including entrepreneurship, business development, and professionalism.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and third parties, both verbally and in writing.
  • Deliver high-quality, accurate work products in a timely manner.
  • Meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Foster positive relationships and comply with firm policies.
  • Engage in sedentary work, including working at a computer and participating in virtual calls and meetings.
Education: 
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a nationally ranked law school.
