Naviga has been engaged to recruit a Part-Time Contract Legal Administrative Assistant to join their team.

Title: Part-Time Contract Legal Administrative Assistant
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Schedule: T-Th, 8:30-5 working onsite (days may vary)

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal and administrative support to lawyers and professionals across disputes and transactional practice groups.
  • Draft and format a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, agreements, correspondence, and reports.
  • Maintain Outlook calendars, coordinate meetings, and manage complex travel arrangements for assigned lawyers.
  • Monitor and accept assignments through the firm’s delegation tool, collaborating across teams to ensure timely task completion.
  • Proofread work for consistency, grammar, content, and formatting accuracy.
  • Support client communications and maintain professional relationships with external contacts, courts, and vendors.
  • Prepare and manage monthly billing tasks and assist with compliance-related documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding support for new lawyers and serve as a resource for navigating firm departments and tools.
  • Adhere to best practices and ensure consistent application of firm standards, policies, and technology tools.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a law firm or professional services organization.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, document formatting, and legal support workflows.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn firm-specific systems quickly.
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and project coordination skills.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to engage in both sedentary and limited physical activity, including extended computer use and virtual meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal and client service orientation

  • Effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education: 
  • High School or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
