Title: Contract Legal Administrative Assistant
Location: Hybrid - Washington, DC
Hours: M-F 9-5:30
Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys in the disputes and transactions practice groups.
- Create, edit, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents including agreements, pleadings, reports, and presentations.
- Draft professional correspondence and assist with court filings as required.
- Maintain Outlook calendars, coordinate complex travel arrangements, and schedule meetings.
- Proactively manage and delegate assignments using the firm’s workflow/delegation tools.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical files, and assist with matter openings and closings.
- Track and submit billing, expense reports, and compliance documents using firm platforms such as Aderant and Chrome River.
- Assist with onboarding, resource navigation, and support for new lawyers and staff.
- Serve as a key point of contact for partners and practice area teams.
- Perform additional administrative tasks and project-based support as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a law firm or professional services organization.
- Must have experience with billing and expense tools such as Aderant and Chrome River.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, document types, and practice-specific administrative support.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn proprietary firm systems.
- Excellent writing, grammar, formatting, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines independently in a high-volume environment.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Notary Public certification for the District of Columbia is a plus.
Education:
- High School or GED
- Bachelor's Degree or some college coursework strongly preferred
