The Opportunity
This is a critical, high-impact role supporting the company's accelerated expansion. The Key Account Specialist (KAS) function is significantly enhanced to better manage and grow existing large municipal and private water utility accounts. The KAS's core purpose is to ensure full customer support post-sale, allowing Regional Sales Directors to focus on new business. You will proactively manage relationships, drive customer satisfaction, and identify opportunities for upselling and expansion. This is a chance to be a key player in a growing, well-funded organization and help build a new, essential program from the ground up.
What You Will Do
- Be responsible for managing and growing existing, high-priority accounts , serving as the primary point of contact, and driving customer satisfaction.
- Manage and nurture a defined set of the company's largest and most important customer accounts.
- Serve as the daily point of contact for customers, handling issue triage, coordination, oversight, and general needs (e.g., RFPs, quotes, follow-up).
- Identify opportunities for upselling, upgrades, and expanding account value within the existing customer base.
- Collaborate deeply and cross-functionally with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Technical Support, Software Training, Finance) to ensure all customer issues are addressed promptly .
- Travel approximately 50% of the time for face-to-face introductions and maintaining customer relationships.
Who You Are
- Must be located within driving distance of the primary Florida office (e.g., Ocala, Gainesville, Tampa, or Orlando) , as regular onsite work in the office (approx. 3 days/week) is required.
- At least one year of experience in account management.
- Possess strong customer management and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex customer needs.
- Exhibit high personal drive, "grit," and a motivation to jump in and grow with the company.
- Comfort with a role that requires flexibility beyond standard 9-to-5 hours, as hours fluctuate based on customer needs.
- Preferred experience includes the municipal water industry, utility industry, or water infrastructure distribution.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
