Contract Project Manager

The Opportunity

This Project Manager role is a critical position sitting within a specific practice group, focusing on national projects and contract negotiations. You will be responsible for developing and carrying out project strategies related to office services, supplies, and physical office transformations (renovations, relocations, or expansions) across U.S. locations. 

The Location

Palo Alto, CA (Hybrid)- Regular in-office presence with some flexibility for work-from-home. 

What You Will Do

  • Operational Execution: Propose and implement rollout plans for firm-wide projects, including office openings, relocations, and physical moves.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead vendor management by developing RFPs and negotiating contracts to secure optimal financial and service outcomes.
  • Client & Matter Support: Coordinate multiple stages of onboarding, support new client matters, and manage marketing invitations.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary link between Operations and IT for technology requirements and e-billing projects.
  • Team Leadership: Interface directly with clients and work closely with LEA and LAA Assistants to ensure effective workload distribution and high accuracy.

Who You Are

  • Experienced Professional: At least 5 years of experience in operations and project management.
  • Financial Acumen: Ideally possesses experience managing books of business in the multimillion-dollar range.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience managing intranet pages and vendor technology.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Communication Style: Poised under pressure with a strong verbal presence when interacting with senior leadership and lawyers.
  • Industry Context: Prior experience within a legal or law firm environment is highly preferred. (Note: Active or former legal practice in the Transactional space is no longer a requirement).
The Ideal Candidate is  poised under pressure and maintains a strong verbal presence when interacting with senior leadership. You should be comfortable working "on the ground" while also possessing the high-level analytical skills necessary for complex contract negotiations. Prior experience within a legal or law firm environment is highly preferred to navigate the unique expectations of this practice group.
