The Opportunity
The Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) provides essential administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal teams. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of administrative functions by managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate regularly with Legal Support Assistants (LSAs), Legal Executive Assistants (LEAs), and attorneys to ensure work is properly allocated and completed on time.

What You Will Do
- Partner Support: Support a fast-paced partner, requiring comfort in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment.
- Calendar & Scheduling: Demonstrate strong calendar management and essential scheduling skills.
- Practice Support: Provide specific support to multiple associates and partners, leveraging knowledge of unique practice tasks to prioritize work effectively.
- Document Management: Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, communications, and presentations to ensure total accuracy.
- Information Governance: Organize and store client/matter content in approved repositories in accordance with firm policies.
- Billing Oversight: Oversee billing matters, including processing prebills and ensuring final bills are delivered timely.
- Workflow Coordination: Utilize the firm’s workflow tools to monitor assignments, including time entry and expense reimbursements.
- Liaison & Mentorship: Serve as a liaison between teams and provide guidance to LSAs assisting on projects.
Who You Are
- Experienced Professional: You have a minimum of two years of administrative experience in a law firm environment. Candidates with professional services experience will also be considered if they have supported at the C-suite level.
- Confident & Proactive: You are an ideal candidate who is confident, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Education: You hold a High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or Business is preferred).
- Technically Savvy: You are proficient with Microsoft Office and legal software such as iManage, Aderant, or DocXTools. You are also comfortable using AI-powered tools for document production and research.
- Communication Expert: You possess the ability to communicate effectively via email and voice, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
- Adaptable: You thrive under pressure, stay positive, and are willing to learn new skills to adapt to the evolving needs of a legal practice.
