Distribution Center Director (Director of Logistics / Warehouse Operations Director)

Position Summary

This is a newly created leadership opportunity to oversee one of the largest and most strategically important distribution centers. As Director of Distribution, you will provide operational and strategic leadership for a highly visible facility supporting traditional distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, value-added services, and the company’s national returns operation.
The position was intentionally created to elevate leadership capability, strengthen employee engagement, improve organizational effectiveness, and prepare the Harrisburg operation for continued growth. Working closely with executive leadership, you will lead a mature operation while developing future leaders, driving operational excellence, and helping shape the future of the expanding distribution network.

The Location

This position is based onsite in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The Harrisburg Distribution Center is one of the company’s flagship operations and is located just minutes from the company’s corporate headquarters. Because of its proximity to executive leadership, the facility regularly hosts customer visits, executive meetings, and corporate tours, making this one of the organization’s most visible operational leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day distribution center operations to achieve service, productivity, inventory, safety, and financial objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a strong operating rhythm, performance management process, and culture of accountability.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor a multi-level leadership team, including Senior Operations Managers, Operations Managers, and Supervisors.
  • Drive KPI performance through data-driven decision making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Own facility-level financial performance, budgeting, labor planning, and cost management.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, HR, Finance, Transportation, Inventory Control, and Customer-facing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support customer satisfaction by ensuring operational execution meets service expectations and commitments.
  • Lead customer and executive facility visits while representing the operation with professionalism and confidence.
  • Develop succession plans and strengthen leadership bench strength.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of operational leadership experience within distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, 3PL, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Experience leading operational improvement, stabilization, or transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success managing operational KPIs, productivity, inventory, labor, and service performance.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including budget and P&L responsibility.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, high-volume environments with measurable performance objectives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading organizational change or transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to customer-facing distribution environments and service-level agreements (SLAs)

Schedule: Executive leadership schedule with flexibility to support operational needs and business priorities.
Travel: Approximately 10%, primarily supporting company initiatives and leadership meetings.
